Dometic rv refrigerator thermistor adjustment

The slider type thermistor in our Dometic refrigerator is a real pain, never stays in place, slides down when traveling or frequently gets bumped out of adjustment. I have been looking at adjustable thermistors, they are out there, but I do not want the one with the thermistor in series. Here's the link to the Articca and a picture.

I believe on the RM1303 the thermostat cap tube is slid up through a small tube at the back of the refigerator cooling unit on the left side. This tube allows the cap tube to slid up to a factory preset distance so the calibration would give around 38 degree at a mid range setting.
